The CD-500 is an extremely compact CD player, available in standard or professional versions. Its slim chassis houses a slot-in type disc-loading mechanism equipped with a highly reliable brushless motor. Its comprehensive features make it ideal for small broadcast or recording studios, theaters, rental companies, fitness centers, or any fixed installation. In addition to standard play and repeat modes, the player offers numerous features designed for professional use: instant start (Flash Start), automatic cueing to the first track (Auto Cue), automatic pause at the end of the track (Auto Ready), call-back to the previous playback position, playback speed adjustment of ±16% with the ability to change the tempo without changing the pitch, intro-check, and fade-in/fade-out. For easier integration into media control systems and fixed installations, the CD-500 offers Relay Play, Fader Start, and Event Start functions, generates a tally EOM signal at the end of a track, and has a serial port. Furthermore, upon power-up, the player can resume playback from where it left off and memorizes various operating conditions after a shutdown. The standard version of the CD-500 has unbalanced analog outputs, an optical S/PDIF digital output, and a coaxial S/PDIF digital output.
